Our 14th Running!
Best of Luck to All...

This event started as a crackpot scheme to show off Allerton's potential as a half marathon site after the old bridge across the Sangamon was replaced and the park became "whole" again, AND to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Illinois!
The park did not disappoint. In fact over the years, Allerton's staff have made trail and facility improvements, and the park is more special than ever as a year-round running/hiking destination, and as the perfect venue for a race weekend!
Likewise, the race has become a can't-miss event for all who love nature, fitness, good music, encouragement, and Wish Families! We strive to make the experience challenging yet fun, with seriously cool race medals on Sunday, and with lighted statues and sights and sounds to remember on Saturday night!
For our 14th running(!) we have a few more surprises planned that you do NOT want to miss.

The trails are calling! We're calling! And we hope you'll answer the call and come experience this special place!

NOT ABLE TO JOIN US AT THE PARK? HOW ABOUT A VIRTUAL RACE??!!
Are you an Allerton or U of I fan who's moved far, far away? Or are you just going to be out of town in late April? No problem! If you’ve never heard of a “virtual race” before, it goes like this: You run or walk your own version of your chosen race(s) (5K, 10K, and/or Half Marathon), on your own course anywhere (safe)! If you have a Garmin or similar device, OR if you can work with a running app on your phone, you can choose to record your time and distance and send it in. BUT you can also do it without tech if you prefer!

Then we will get you your awesome finisher medal (10K and Half Marathon) in the mail!

We may share your participation on social media if you're willing. You’ll be asked to send a photo. You’ll be encouraged to tell a story. Dogs were allowed anyway, but now they’re REALLY allowed. There’ll be points for originality.

Above all, you'll participate in a great story, one in which Allerton enthusiasts, runners, and walkers come together in our 14th consecutive year to do something amazing!

Monticello Triple Crown

The Monticello Triple Crown is a series of 3 race events hosted all in Monticello, IL. By completing an event in each of the three races, you will qualify for a Monticello Triple Crown award, furnished by our great friends at Kelly's Accounting Service in Monticello, IL!
